Address: 7 Phoenix St. |
Heritage Status: None |
Built: circa 1900 | Builder/Architect: Unknown |
Style: Elements of Italianate | |
Architecture: This is a 2 unit house, with elements of Italianate character like the low pitched gabled roof and the open veranda. There is a balanced façade and a shingled wall surface trimmed with plain corner boards. Renovations to the house have replaced most of the veranda, while still retaining its original structure. |
|
History: The year 1900 is listed on Assessment records as the year of construction of this building, but deed research is unclear. The only conclusions that can be made are that Victoria Ernst, the town’s first female physician, owned the property at the time of her death in 1940. Amy McIsaac owned the property following Victoria Ernst, from 1942 to 1956. |
