INVITATION TO SERVE ON VARIOUS TOWN OF BRIDGEWATER COMMITTEES/COMMISSIONS/BOARD

The Town of Bridgewater is seeking interested individuals, with a willingness to offer his/her time, knowledge, and suggestions/ideas, to serve on various committees/commissions of the Town. The committees/commissions currently seeking representation are:
- Bridgewater Active Transportation Committee (BATC)
    - 1 Citizen representative; and
    - 1 Stakeholder representative
- Canada Day on the LaHave Committee
    - Citizen representatives
- Parks, Recreation & Culture Advisory Committee (PR&C)
    - 1 Citizen representative; and
    - 1 Youth representative (under the age of 19 and attending either Bridgewater Junior High School or Parkview Education Centre)
- Downtown Planning Advisory Committee (DPAC)
    - 1 Stakeholder Representative
- Public Service Commission of Bridgewater (Water Utility for Bridgewater)
    - 1 Citizen representative

Also, the Western Regional Housing Authority, under the jurisdiction of the Nova Scotia Department of Community Services is seeking a Town of Bridgewater citizen representative. The Housing Authority is responsible for the administration and management of public housing and other affordable rental housing programs. 
     - The Bridgewater Standing Committee meets bi-monthly. There are four (4) standing Committees which make up the Wester Regional HA (Yarmouth, Middleton, New Minas & Bridgewater);
     - The Western Regional Housing Authority Board meets at least once a year and allow staff to present a “snap shot” of the year.
     - Meetings are held during the day and are usually 2 hours in duration and are designed to review applications for approval or denial, review of tenant transfer request, notice to quits approval or denial, and discussion on tenant related issues.
     - The Board is not responsible for Maintenance or Finance.
