The Native Council of Nova Scotia is the self-governing authority for the large community of Mi’kmaq/Aboriginal peoples residing off-reserve in Nova Scotia throughout traditional Mi’kmaq territory. Our goal is to operate and administer a strong and effective Aboriginal Peoples Representative Organization that serves, advocates and represents our community.

Nova Scotia Health Authority provides health services to Nova Scotians and some specialized services to Maritimers and Atlantic Canadians. We operate hospitals, health centres and community-based programs across the province. Our team of health professionals includes employees, doctors, researchers, learners and volunteers that provide the health care or services you may need. Partnerships are important to us. We work in partnership with community groups, schools, governments, foundations and auxiliaries and community health boards. Whether we are hosting wellness programs in the community, conducting innovative research in labs, or helping a patient recover in hospital; we are creating a healthier Nova Scotia.

Our staff assist individuals and employers navigate a range of no cost employment programs and services that will aid in their success. We are a registered non-profit society dedicated to assisting job seekers find employment and employers find suitable workers. We have been serving job seekers and employers since 1994 and in 2016, we became a Nova Scotia Works – Employment Assistance Services Centre and received operational funding from the Province of Nova Scotia.
